FACTS ABOUT FAQs

Do you do tuning?

 - Not yet, but I am considering it. Note: I will not perform any illegal tuning. If it's a track car and it's legal to have components/systems deleted, that's fine. For now, I only perforom module programming and key transponder/fob programming.

Why did programming not fix my car?

 - Most likely the diagnosis was wrong; it's somewhat dificult to program something wrong if you follow service information. There's a lot of nuance to this, but as a general rule of thumb, you should keep in mind: Programming is not a repair. It is just one step in the repair process.

Do I still have to pay if programming did not fix my car?

 - Unfortunately, yes. I can't be held liable for someone elses' misdiagnosis. Another thing to note, is some modules will receieve/send the expected data from a module that is not functioning properly, but once the faulty module has been repaired or replaced; it sends/receieves the correct data, but the correct data is now being interpretted as incorrect on either end of the line.

Why is there a show up fee?

 - My time has value, as does my vehicle. That 25 minutes I spend to get to you not only costs gas, causes wear and tear, but it takes up 50 minutes out of my day.

How much does it cost to program my "xyz" module?

 - This varies based on what all needs to be done to program it. Do I need to purchase a license? Do I have to take it out on a test drive? If so, how many drive cycles? It's variable, but I feel as though I'm fair. Reach out and to me, preferrebly through text and I'll get back with you.

Do you cut keys?

 - Yes, and no. At this point in time, I don't have a key machine myself. I partner with a certified locksmith and he does all of the locksmith related stuff. I only program the key transponders and immobilizers. Ideally, I should be able to cut keys myself. I'm just waiting on certifications to process etc.

About MAP

Hi, my name is Trevor and I would like to help fix your car.

I laregly focus on programming modules and key fobs. Although I prefer programming and doing key work so you can get back on the road, am expanding into more general maintenance, repairs, and vehicle assessments that are the root cause of the issue you may be facing with your vehicle. If you're looking for the fastest vehicle assessment or repair, I'm not the person you're looking for. I'd rather be slow and right, than fast and wrong. That being said, I charge for the job, not the hours spent on it.

During the month of October, supporting vendors give away brake pads, I install them and donate 10% of the labor cost to Brakes For Breasts; so far, no vendor wants to get on board so I'm just going to pay for them myself. everyone can get free brake pads; you pay for my labor and any additional parts that may be required to insure the safety of your vehicle.

I will also do a quick inspection of safety components and recommend repairs as needed. I'm not trying to upsell, but it's important that our vehicles are safe. Unfortunately I can' donate any other items, but I'll install them for a more than fair price.
